Human trafficking has become a hot topic lately.   It’s been the subject of numerous documentaries, and even a new movie that delves into this pressing issue. It’s definitely a conversation starter, as more and more people are becoming aware of the gravity of human trafficking.

Uprising, is a Sheridan-based outreach organization that brings awareness and education about the issue of human trafficking in our region. 

Human trafficking is often depicted in sensationalized ways but Uprising’s experience is that those instances are extremely rare and exploitation presents itself very differently in our community.

Following the release of the movie ‘The Sound of Freedom’ Uprising has put out a statement distancing themselves from Operation Underground Railroad featured in the movie.
